Temporary Stay or Tourist Visa
Temporary Stay is the permit granted to foreign nationals entering the country for tourism, business, or other reasons, for a limited time, without the intention of residing or settling there.
In some cases, nationals of certain countries may be required to obtain prior authorization from a Chilean consulate abroad.

This permit authorizes a stay of 90 days in the country, which can be extended once for an additional 90 days.
Temporary Residence Visa
Temporary Residence is the permit granted by the Chilean National Immigration Service to foreign nationals who intend to settle in Chile for a limited time, valid for up to 2 years.
Temporary Residence Visa from Abroad
Foreign nationals who wish to reside in Chile for a limited time to carry out legal, paid work under a subordinate or dependent relationship with an employer domiciled in or with a branch in Chile may apply for this permit. This permit is valid for up to two years.

Mercosur Temporary Residence Visa from Abroad
Foreign nationals who wish to reside in Chile for a limited time may apply for this permit. This permit is valid for up to two years.

Temporary Residence Visa Extension from Chile
Extension of the Residence/Visa of the holder and their dependents for up to two additional years.
Permanent Residency
Permanent Residency is the permit granted by the National Migration Service to foreign nationals with a valid Temporary Residency, allowing them to reside indefinitely and engage in any legal activity in the country.
Holders of Temporary Residency may apply for Permanent Residency only in cases where their immigration subcategory permits it.
